Top Bath Tile Designs

SPANISH COLONIAL

In a Spanish Colonial-inspired powder room, the graphic tiles are first to the Richmond, Virginia, house.

SILVER TRIM

Silver travertine tiles, Ann Sacks's Palladium, line the walls and floor of a Boston townhouse's master bath.

BLUE-ON-BLUE

A Nantucket beach home's blue master bathroom gets its airy look from high ceilings and walls painted a light blue. The mosaic tile floor was drawn by designer Frank Roop with CAD software on a pc, also Tile Showcase made it like a carpet, in one piece.

INDUSTRIAL CHIC

Designer Deirdre Doherty provides a fresh look to this bathroom in an old Spanish Revival. The distance feels new by mixing in a bit of industrial chic. (The wall tile is Michael S. Smith for Ann Sacks and the flooring tile is Cluny by Granada Tile.)

Shower Glass Doors

HEXAGONAL PATTERN

"I wanted drama!" Says designer SuzAnn Kletzien of the daring en suite bathroom. The impact begins with a lively hexagonal-tile "rug" by Artistic Tile. In Nero Marquina, Pacific White and Thassos marbles, it's a luxe edition of traditional penny-tile.

CEMENT STYLE

Cement floor tiles pick up the grey and "add just the right quantity of pattern," says designer Daleet Spector of an understated bath. "And they are cool and refreshing on bare feet. The area is lavish but in a very contemporary, understated manner."

COLORED GROUT

Gray-grouted Nemo subway tiles line the walls of the apartment's next bath.

VINTAGE GLAMOUR

In an art-deco bathroom, mother-of-pearl liner frames the Arpell Bianco tile by Artistic Tile.

CHEVRON FLOOR

At a New York City toilet designed by Alla Akimova, the play is really on the floor. Tiles in Vetro Bianco on the vanity along with the walls reflect light beautifully. (The chevron, written of Dark Emperador and Thassos marble, was custom cut by Manhattan Renovations.)
